Evening Graze

About mid-July, I took a drive to my friend Jodi's farm in Nerstrand MN. She and her family raise sheep for milk and make the milk into a variety of award-winning cheeses. It was a perfectly still evening in the pasture and all I could hear was grass being pulled and chewed.

Gnats attacked me while painting this piece, but it was worth the red welts - a fine little painting was achieved.

Silver Creek In Spring

The lighting was "just right" on this evening while visiting at a friend's party. I quickly snapped a photo to record it, studied the scene for a while and then worked on this painting in my studio.

Cut My Peonies

Joan G. called me as she was about to leave town for two weeks. "Go cut my peonies, they're in full bloom and I won't be able to enjoy them!"

Flower Garden

Each year in August, volunteers gather at the Scott/Carver Threshers grounds in Jordan MN. They recreate the past with steam engines running a sawmill, grain separators and other equipment of days gone by. In the log cabin, women gather and stitch on a quilt. During a break, one of the volunteers checks on the flower garden.

Fond Memories

The East Union store used to sit on the corner of county road 50 and 40 for many years. It has since been moved to the Scott/Carver Threshers grounds in Jordan MN. Everyone who ever went to the store has memories and stories to tell.

Full Blooms

Each summer I delight in the fabulous blooms on my 50 year old peony bushes. I always put a bouquet in my favorite antique enamel pitcher.
